Does Solar Charging Require A Heat Source?

Dec. 18, 2018

When a solar cell can fully absorb light energy during charging, it depends mainly on the wavelength of light and the intensity of radiation. It has little to do with the heat of light. Light is essentially a type of electromagnetic radiation. Solar energy can be charged by activating the photoelectric reaction. Many people think that the principle of solar charging is very complicated, but when you look at the circuit diagram, you will find that the whole principle is very simple.

After the photoanode portion of the lamp receives the illumination, the electrons will transition, and the semiconductor material of the photoanode will be able to extract energy from the outer electrons, and then move to the conductive strip to create an electron pair. Among the solar cells that have been subjected to sensitive treatment, the forbidden band width of titanium dioxide is very large, and if the electrons cannot obtain enough energy, there is no way to pass the forbidden band. Therefore, in general, there is a layer of sensitizer on the solar cell, and this layer of sensitizer can provide a place for electronic transition. However, the sensitizer cannot be directly used as the photoanode because its conductivity is very good, and the electrons easily react, but after the reaction, they will recombine instantaneously, which has no effect.
